Abstracts are no longer being accepted for the 2010 SVM Annual Meeting.

Submission Requirements

Only online submissions are accepted.
There is no fee for submitting an abstract.
Work covered by the abstract must not have been published (manuscript or abstract) prior to April 29, 2010.
If the abstract has been presented or accepted for presentation at another national meeting or world congress, it should not be submitted to SVM.
Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present a poster if accepted. Failure to present and register for the meeting, if not justified, will jeopardize future acceptance of abstracts. If an emergency arises and the presenter is unable to attend, he/she must notify SVM headquarters in writing prior to the meeting that he/she is withdrawing the abstract or naming a substitute presenter. All notices should be e-mailed to info@vascularmed.org. The substitute must be a co-author and preferably not already presenting another abstract. Failure to follow these procedures may result in the submitter being prohibited from presenting at the next SVM meeting.
There is no limit to the number of abstracts an investigator may submit; however, investigators should not submit the same research. Abstracts that appear to be replicate versions of a single study will be rejected.
Investigators need not be SVM members to participate.
Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed.
Abstracts selected for presentation will be scheduled in a poster session on April 29, 2010.
If the abstract is accepted, the presenter will be asked to disclose any financial interest/arrangement or affiliation with any commercial organizations that could be perceived as a real or apparent conflict of interest in the context of their presentation subject matter. Commercial relationships which occurred within the 12 months prior to the date of the meeting (April 29, 2009 -- April 28, 2010) must be disclosed. These are typically relationships such as grants, speaker's bureau, major stockholder or other company ownership, etc. Funding from government and nonprofit sources does not need to be disclosed. Disclosure information will be published in the final program.
Accepted posters abstracts are also submitted to the Vascular Medicine Editorial Office for printing in the annual meeting issue of Vascular Medicine that is included in attendee registration packets.

Abstract Title:

Capitalize all words that should be capitalized and do not use non-standard abbreviations. Commercial names may not be used. Limit titles to 250 characters.

Abstract Text, Tables and Images:

Abstracts are limited to 1,750 characters (including spaces).
Abstracts should describe clinical research in vascular medicine or basic research in vascular biology.
Do not repeat or include title, author(s) or author affiliation(s).
Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Nonstandard abbreviations must be placed in parenthesis after the first use.
Before inserting text, run spell check since it isn't possible to spell check from within the abstract submission system.
Do not include references, credits or grant support.
Text should include a brief description of background, methods, results and conclusion(s).
Only one (1) table or graph/image is permitted.

Selection Criteria
Submissions are scored by the committee on a scale of 1 to 5 as follows:

1 = Outstanding
2 = Superior
3 = Good
4 = Fair
5 = Poor

Young Investigator Award
