Jay D. Coffman Young Investigator Award
In honor of Jay D. Coffman (1928-2006), distinguished internist and researcher of vascular medicine and clinical cardiology, SVM sponsors an annual award in vascular medicine research.
Eligibility & Applications
- To be considered for the Jay D. Coffman Young Investigator (YI) Award, applicants submit an abstract online and select "Yes" on this step within the online submission system. Learn more about submitting an abstract.
- Those eligible to apply for the YI Award must be a graduate student, postdoctoral fellow, research fellow or junior faculty (within three years of completing training).
- A letter from the applicant's supervisor/training director must attest to the applicant's training level and level of involvement in the work related to the abstract. Letters must be uploaded as a Word or PDF file during the abstract submission process.
Finalists Receive:
- Complimentary registration for the 2010 SVM Scientific Sessions
- Travel on economy air booked at least two weeks in advance of the meeting
- Up to two nights at the Intercontinental Cleveland Hotel at the group rate
- Ground transportation
Note: The total reimbursement per finalist must be no more than $1,000.
Awards
The first place winner receives $1,500; second place receives $750; and third place receives $250.
