SVM Urges Vote in Favor of "Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act"
Cigarette smokers are 2 to 4 times more likely to develop coronary heart disease than nonsmokers, and 2 to 3 times more likely to die from it. The House Energy and Commerce Committee approved legislation (H.R. 1108) strongly supported by the SVM and other vascular organizations that would grant FDA authority over tobacco products.
